Accommodation

  • Hotels and guest houses - there is a big difference in prices, they usually start from 350 SEK. In summer the prices visibly fall, tourists are offered interesting promotions. Discounts are also offered on special hotel cards which are available in travel agencies and tourist information spots.
  • Youth hostels - their standard is quite high, they have well-equipped kitchens and they offer a breakfast buffet. The prices are about 200 SEK.
  • Camping sites - you can find them in almost every city. Camping for two persons in July and August costs about 100 SEK.

Post
Post offices are usually open:

  • On week days: 9.00-18.00,
  • On Saturdays: 9.00-13.00.

In Sweden there are no problems finding a post office. They are usually open from Mon to Fri between 8.06-16.00 and on Sat. 9.00- 13.00, however some city post offices are open a bit longer, especially the Main Post Office in Stockholm (Mon.-Fri. 8.00-20.00 and Sat. 9.00-15.00). The payment for sending a card or a letter below 20 grams to one of the European countries is nowadays 4.5 kr (4 kr within Scandinavia), and to other parts of the world: 5.5 kr. The post usually gets to Europe after 5-7 days.
 
For drivers
road regulations:

  • The lights must be on 24 hours a day
  • All passengers must fasten their seat belts
  • Legally acceptable amount of alcohol in blood is 0.2 parts per thousand

Speed limits:

  • Residential area - 50 km/h
  • Undeveloped area- 90 km/h
  • highway- 110 km/h

  • petrol 95 - about 13.59 SEK
  • petrol 98 - about 13.90 SEK
  • Diesel - about 13.93 SEK
